Firefighters Battle Car Blaze, Burning Wires In Northern Westchester Firefighters battled both a car blaze and downed burning wires that began at nearly the same time during a busy morning in Northern Westchester.  The incidents happened on Wednesday, April 3 just before 9 a.m., when firefighters in Somers responded to downed burning wires on Route 202 near Todd Road while also being called to the scene of a car blaze in a parking lot on Route 6.  According to the Somers Volunteer Fire Department, the car blaze was successfully put out with  1,000 gallons of water. Police Release Details On Rollover Crash That Seriously Injured Northern Westchester Woman State Police have released new details on a crash in which a 70-year-old Northern Westchester woman was seriously injured and a dog killed. Paulette L. Milligan, was driving a Chevy Aveo eastbound around 9:15 a.m., Tuesday, June 1, when she attempted to pass a 2017 Jeep Cherokee on Route 6 in Somers near Windsor Road, said New York State Trooper AJ Hicks. Milligan, of Somers, struck the Jeep, then moved back to the right, struck the guide rail, overturned, and came to rest on the opposite side of the guide rail in an earth embankment, Hicks said. The local residents charged with DWI were: Westchester County: On Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, State Police from Cortlandt arrested Christopher Christiansen, 32, of Cortlandt, for DWI.
