A retired police sergeant who served a village in Westchester for close to four decades is being remembered for his lifelong dedication to the youth of his community. The death of retired Youth Sgt. Rocco Plateroti was announced by the Port Chester Police Department on Wednesday, Jan. 17 in a post on social media. Youngster Rescued From Underneath Vehicle After Crash Next To High School In Westchester
A young victim had to be rescued from underneath a vehicle after they became trapped as the result of a two-car crash next to a high school in Westchester. The incident happened on Wednesday, Nov. 22 just after 12:15 p.m., when a two-car crash occurred at Port Chester High School at the corner of Neuton Avenue and Hillcrest Avenue, according to the Port Chester Fire Department. One student was hospitalized after an altercation broke out following a varsity football game in Westchester. The incident happened at Port Chester High School, which hosted Poughkeepsie High School on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 21. A village in Westchester is mourning the loss of a longtime business owner who rose to important positions in the community's fire department. Lifelong Port Chester resident Robert "Tee" Thalheimer died on Friday, Aug. 11 at the age of 76, according to his obituary. Thalheimer, the former Chief of the Port Chester Fire Department, was born in the village in 1946 and graduated from Port Chester High School in 1964. Fairfield County resident Anthony “Tony” Ragusa, of Wilton, died at Danbury Hospital on Thursday, Aug. 4, following a brief illness, according to his obituary.
