A speeding driver from New York has been charged with fleeing a police officer and other charges and issued 106 tickets after failing to stop for a traffic infraction. Joseph S. Salazar, age 26, of the Bronx, was arrested on Wednesday, June 28, for the incident which took place in Rockland County in the town of Stony Point on Sunday, May 28. New update: ID Released For 20-Year-Old Killed Along With His Dog In PIP Crash In Clarkstown State police are investigating a fatal three-vehicle crash in the Hudson Valley on the Palisades Interstate Parkway. The crash took place in Rockland County around 10 p.m., Thursday, April 13 southbound near the Clarktown exit, said Trooper Steven Nevel. Police did not say how many people were killed. A Westchester County resident was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash on the Palisades Interstate Parkway. The crash took place in Rockland County around 6:50 p.m., Friday, Feb. 24 on the parkway near Exit 16 southbound in Stony Point. New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel said a preliminary investigation revealed that a 2013 Acura MDX driven by Michael Paradis, age 56, of Pelham, was traveling south at a high rate of speed when the vehicle exited the roadway on the west shoulder, struck a tree and rolled over. A high-speed chase with state police which reached speeds of 100 mph ended in a crash and led to the arrest of two men who were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance. The chase began in Rockland County in Ramapo around 2 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17 when troopers patrolling the Palisades Interstate Parkway in the town of Ramapo, spotted a 2021 Nissan Altima traveling north on the parkway in violation of traffic laws, said Trooper Steven Nevel. State police are investigating after a school bus carrying students on a field trip swerved to avoid another bus and crashed into a guide rail on a busy Hudson Valley roadway. Lane Closures Scheduled For Stretch Of Parkway In Hudson Valley
Officials issued an alert about upcoming lane closures on a stretch of the Palisades Interstate Parkway. Single lane closures are planned in both directions of the parkway from the New Jersey State line in the Rockland County town of Orangetown to the Orange County line in Stony Point, according to the New York State Department of Transportation. The closures are set to take place from Tuesdays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. beginning Tuesday, Nov. 8, through Thursday, Nov. 17, to facilitate guide rail work, state officials said.

State officials issued an alert about a planned ramp closure on the Palisades Interstate Parkway in the Hudson Valley. Motorists in Rockland County should expect the northbound Palisades Interstate Parkway ramp to Exit 5N (State Route 303) in Orangetown to close on Thursday, Oct. 6 between 8 p.m. and midnight, the New York State Department of Transportation said. The closure, reported just before 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, was on the northbound Palisades Interstate Parkway in Northern Rockland County between Seven Lakes Drive/Route 6 (Exit 18) and Seven Lakes Parkway/Exit 19. State officials are advising motorists to prepare for a planned lane closure on the Palisades Interstate Parkway to facilitate sign work. The New York State Department of Transportation said the right lane of the parkway in Rockland County is set to close in each direction between Exit 9E/W (Interstate 87) and Exit 8E/W (US Route 59) in Clarkstown. The closure is expected to take place between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8, and on Thursday, June 9.

A 29-year-old driver died in a head-on crash overnight in the area. It happened at 4:50 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 29 in Rockland County on the Palisades Interstate Parkway in Stony Point. Investigators found that a northbound Honda Civic failed to negotiate a bend in the roadway, crossed the median into southbound traffic, and crashed into a 2020 Mercedes-Benz, according to New York State Police. A Hudson Valley man was arrested for fleeing from police and issued 12 tickets. Rockland County resident Jeremy Singh, age 24, of the town of Haverstraw, was arrested on Tuesday, March 16, after being stopped by state police driving a 2006 Toyota Corolla on Route 202 in Haverstraw, Trooper Steven Nevel said. One person was found dead inside a burning vehicle on the Palisades Interstate Parkway during the early morning hours. The car fire was discovered around 2 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 16, in the southbound lane at the Exit 16 ramp in Stony Point by New York State Police, said Trooper Steven Nevel.
