Self-Cleaning Oven Sparks Blaze At Apartment Complex In Croton-On-Hudson A blaze at a Northern Westchester apartment complex sparked by a self-cleaning oven was quickly stopped in its tracks thanks to quick action from firefighters.  The fire happened on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at around 1:20 p.m., when smoke was seen coming from the Bari Manor Apartments on Old Post Road South in Croton-on-Hudson, according to the village's fire department.  Arriving fire crews quickly made their way to a second-floor apartment and found that a grease fire had begun inside an oven. Car Flips Over, Slams Into Pole In Northern Westchester, Leaving Driver Injured A driver was left injured after a car overturned and crashed into a utility pole in Northern Westchester.  The incident happened on Thursday, Feb. 16 around 6 p.m., when a vehicle traveling in Croton-on-Hudson Old Post Road South flipped over and hit a pole on Nordica Drive, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department.  Firefighters and police then descended upon the scene to help the injured driver escape the vehicle.  After the occupant was turned over to first responders, firefighters waited for Con Edison to fix the pole, which took about 90 minutes.

Temporary Water Shutdown, Road Closure Announced In Croton-On-Hudson Water service will be disrupted and roads closed in Croton-on-Hudson as crews conduct hydrant work in the village. Elected officials in Croton-on-Hudson issued an alert warning that beginning at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25, water will be turned off in the vicinity of Maple Street, and later on Old Post Road South at approximately 9 p.m.  Officials said that residents who will be affected have been notified of the shutdown. During the hydrant work, Maple Street will be closed westbound between Grand Street and Old Post Road South. Eastbound traffic is not expected to be impacted.
