Woman Driving Without License Causes Chain-Reaction Crash Into Hudson Valley Home: Police A woman driving without a license was hospitalized after police say she caused a chain-reaction crash into a home in the Hudson Valley. It happened in Rockland County at around 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 6 in Ramapo. An investigation by police determined that a vehicle traveling on the roadway had lost control, causing it to strike a parked vehicle. Fire Breaks Out At Home Under Construction In Area A fire damaged a home under construction in the area. The fire started around 11:19 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 16 in Rockland County at 48 Briarcliff Drive in Monsey. According to the Monsey Fire Department, when firefighters arrived on the scene they found a working fire in the basement of the home. Crews were able to make a quick initial push and had the fire extinguished shortly, keeping the fire contained to the room of origin, the department said. No one was injured in the fire. Area High School Evacuated After Chemical Smell Sickens Students, Staffers, Police Say This story has been updated. A high school in the area has been evacuated after multiple students and staff reported feeling ill. The incident took place in Rockland County around 8:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 27, at Ramapo High School at 400 Viola Road, said the Ramapo Police. Three people were exposed to an unknown type of chemical agent, the department said.  Information was not available if those people were transported to the hospital. Man Dies After Being Pulled From Home Fire A man died early Wednesday after a fire ripped through his Pomona home. The fire was reported around 3:03 a.m. at 286 Quaker Road, according to Hillcrest Fire Company No. 1. When firefighters arrived on scene flames were spreading outside the back of the one-story house to the roof.  They were also informed by neighbors there was a possibility of an occupant still in the home, the department said.
