The crash took place in Columbia County on Friday, Sept. 23 in Clermont on Route 9. According to Trooper AJ Hicks, Romelo Cruze was killed after being hit by a vehicle. Good Samaritans Help State Police Protect Man With Special Needs In Northern Westchester A group of Good Samaritans gave an assist to New York State Police troopers in Northern Westchester to stop a man who was allegedly abusing a person with special needs. New York State Police troopers were dispatched to the Cortlandt Town Center at approximately 2:50 p.m. on Saturday, May 8, where there were reports of a man striking another man with special needs inside a van.
