A staff member in a Westchester school district was sent home this week after learning of a positive COVID-19 test. Interim New Rochelle Schools Superintendent Alex Marrero issued an alert to the community late on Monday, Jan. 4 advising that two staff members tested positive for COVID-19 -- one at Daniel Webster Magnet School and one who works for the Facilities Department. A staff member at a Westchester school has become the latest to test positive for COVID-19. New Rochelle Superintendent Alex Marrero issued a notice to the community that a staff member at Daniel Webster Magnet School has tested positive for COVID-19. Marrero said the staff member was last in the building on Wednesday, Dec. 16, the same day he became symptomatic. Several new COVID-19 cases were reported in multiple schools inside a Westchester school district over the weekend.
