The incident happened on Friday, May 24 around 6:30 p.m. on Boston Post Road (Route 1) in the area of Playland Parkway in the city of Rye, officials said. According to city officials, Rye firefighters arrived at the scene within minutes and found that a vehicle had flipped on its side with a driver stuck inside. Rye Police responded to a one-car motor vehicle accident occurring on the Boston Post Road in the area of Cedar Street. The incident began around 8 p.m., Friday, May 8, when New York State Police out of Westchester responded to a report of a hit-and-run crash on Boston Post Road in Rye, said Trooper Tara McCormick.
