Westchester Students Help Name Baby Falcons Born On Top Of New Tappan Zee Bridge Thanks to elementary school students in Westchester and Rockland counties, several baby peregrine falcons born on top of the new Tappan Zee Bridge have been bestowed with creative names.  To name the falcons, which were born in late May on top of the new Tappan Zee Bridge, the New York State Thruway Authority and Veolia Water held a contest in which voters could decide between several names chosen by schoolchildren throughout the region. Boy Seriously Injured After Being Hit By Vehicle Near School In Northern Westchester A 14-year-old boy was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle while riding his bike in Northern Westchester.  The incident took place around 7:22 p.m. Thursday, June 10 in Bedford Hills. The teen rode his bike into traffic without looking while coming from the area of the Bedford Hills Elementary School on Babbitt Road, said Bedford PD Lt. Jeff Gulick.
