Blaze Breaks Out At Nursing Home In Westchester
Firefighters raced to a nursing home in Westchester after a fire began in its attic. The blaze broke out just before 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 20 at the Atria Woodlands assisted living facility at 1017 Saw Mill River Rd. (Route 9A) in Ardsley, according to the Ardsley Fire Department. After arriving at the facility, firefighters soon learned that the blaze had sparked in the attic near a washer machine. Arrest Made In Case Of Woman Found Bleeding Outside Westchester Facility
An aide at a Westchester assisted living facility is facing charges for allegedly shoving a 98-year-old woman to the ground during an argument, sending her to the hospital, police said. Yonkers resident Rita Collazo, age 60, was arrested this week and charged by police after the elderly woman was found bleeding outside of the RiverVue Memory Care Unit in Tuckahoe after the two got into an argument on Sunday, Nov. 21.
