$26.1M Flood Mitigation Project Starts In Northern Westchester Work has started on a $26.1 million flood mitigation project in Northern Westchester just east of the Hudson River. Serious Crash Causes Bear Mountain Bridge Road Closure Bear Mountain Bridge Road was closed during part of the morning commute due to a crash with reported injuries in Cortlandt. The crash, which took place around 8:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 23, closed the road between Annsville Circle and the Bear Mountain Bridge, said New York State Trooper AJ Hicks. Hicks said the crash involved two vehicles and minor injuries. Tow trucks were on the scene, Hick said. "At least one of the vehicles crossed the double yellow on the curve in the road," he said. "It's a difficult spot to remove the injured and vehicles."
