Facing a budget deficit, a Hudson Valley school district will be redistricting, including the closing of one of its elementary schools. After 46 years in public education, the last 10 as principal of Croton-Harmon High School, Alan Capasso has decided to retire at the end of the 2018-19 school year. The Katonah-Lewisboro School District was named the "best school district" in New York state, by 24/7 Wall St. The financial news and opinion company based in Delaware ranks Best School Districts in every state, and the survey can be accessed here. Katonah-Lewisboro has 3,233 students and spends an average of $31,154 per student, the Wall St. analysis found.
