RYE BROOK, N.Y. Ossinings Rashawn Armstrong pitched eight innings and reached base four times Friday as the Prides baseball team defeated Blind Brook, 6-5, in extra innings.
On the mound, Armstrong gave up five runs, three of them earned, on four hits and struck out eight. He also walked four batters. At the plate, Armstrong was 1-for-2 with one run, one RBI and three walks. He also stole home.
Ossining scored twice in each of the first two innings to jump out to a 4-0 lead, but the Trojans responded with three runs in the bottom of the third and two in the fourth to take the lead.
The Pride scratched across a run in the top of the seventh to tie the game and scored the only run in the eighth inning to earn the win.
