Ossining Hosts Rye in a Pivotal Game for Both

OSSINING, N.Y. -- Rye and Ossining enter their game Friday off of losses and with the Garnets in a defining moment. The Garnets are 0-2 for the first time this millennium and a third straight loss would put them in a deeper hole.

Rye hurt itself last week in a 14-7 loss to John Jay-Cross River with three turnovers and allowing big plays on defense. Rye received a jolt in the fourth quarter when freshman quarterback Andrew Livingston replaced injured starter Jake Meyerson and directed the Garnets to their touchdown. He also brought Rye down the field and within four yards of the tying touchdown late in the fourth quarter.

Ossining was surprised by Pelham, 44-41, last week. Brian Connolly threw for 193 yards and a touchdown and Stephen Candelaria scored three times, however Pelham’s Ke’shaun Stallworth ran for 238 yards and scored three touchdowns. Ossining has shown it can score points, accumulating 69 in its first two games.

The game will be played at 7 p.m. at Ossining.
