Lakeland's Huge Fifth Inning Crushes Ossining

SHRUB OAK, N.Y. – Lakeland’s nine-run fifth inning buried the Ossining Pride on Thursday night as the Hornets rolled to a 15-7 win.

The teams traded runs in the first three innings, and Ossining (2-2) took a slim 5-4 lead into the bottom of the fifth. Lakeland then exploded for the nine runs, and Ossining never recovered. The Pride scored twice in the top of the sixth, but Lakeland matched that total in the bottom of the frame.

Ray Rbozek and Matt Demarte led Lakeland with four RBIs apiece, and seven different players drove in a run for the Hornets. Lakeland scored its 15 runs on 11 hits and commited no errors.

Ronald Delcid led Ossining with three RBIs, while James Laitman and John Circosta drove in two runs each. M. Haag took the loss for the Pride. Ossining scored its seven runs on 10 hits and committed one error.
