OSSINING, N.Y. -- Saniya Chong, a former leading Section 1 scorer from Ossining who plays for University of Connecticut, is facing a tough time after being benched due to her performance, according to a report by LoHud.com.
Chong started the first two games of her sophomore year but lost her spot after a disappointing performance in a loss to Stanford on Monday, Nov. 17, the report said.
Chong is now playing occasionally from the bench, the report said.
She has averaged only around 16 minutes over her last few games, which is what she would average over just one game last year, the report said.
