“I am humbled and excited to have been selected as Roosevelt School’s next principal,” said Hancock. “I have enjoyed my time at the middle school and will truly miss my AMD family members, who have helped mold me into the leader I am today. I look forward to joining the staff of Roosevelt School and continuing the excellent education being provided to the future generations of our Ossining community."
The Board of Education will vote on the appointment at its upcoming meeting on Feb. 24. The district will then arrange for Hancock to meet with the students, parents and staff at Roosevelt School.
Hancock is currently an assistant principal at Anne M, Dorner Middle School, where he supervises and coordinates the Social Studies, World Language and Special Education departments. He will replace Dr. Corey W. Reynolds as he leaves for the White Plains School District for a position as assistant superintendent for human resources.
“Stephen is an exceptional leader who is committed to supporting Ossining’s mission,” said Ossining Schools Superintendent Raymond Sanchez. “He has been successful in every role he has held in the district. I am confident that he will continue to be successful in his new role as Roosevelt’s principal."
