After watching the Forum Debate between incumbent Majority Leader Catherine Borgia and her opponent, Bob Outhouse, it was clear that the well-informed Borgia should continue in her position as our County Legislator and Majority Leader. It appeared that Mr. Outhouse still has so much to learn about our county, as he presented few specific examples of the needs and issues in our county and stumbled many times when he could not give an answer. There is a wonderful county website where he could have educated himself on county issues before this debate.

His admirable background as a fireman, police officer and EMS worker did shine through in his introduction and he has earned our respect through his active service, but unfortunately for Mr. Outhouse, Catherine Borgia, once again outsmarted him with her answers. She presented her long list of experiences and numerous examples of her diverse service to the county, which far outshined her opponent. We also learned that Ms. Borgia received the endorsement from Mr. Outhouse’s former co-workers, the Westchester County PBA.

While searching some background material on Mr. Outhouse, we noticed that he is on full disability and draws a disability salary because of a car accident, and yet drives a taxpayer funded fire chief’s car. I found this interesting and think this is a question that need answers before Election Day.

For these reasons, and many more, we urge all voters in Legislative District 9 to re-elect Majority Leader Catherine Borgia.
