Woman Accused Of Smuggling Liquor Into Sing Sing Prison

UPDATE: On Dec. 12, the case against Evelyn Reyes was dismissed with a conviction of a non-criminal offense, according to court records.

OSSINING, N.Y. – A woman was charged with attempting to smuggle liquor into the Sing Sing Correctional Facility, New York State Police said.

Evelyn Reyes, 38, of the Bronx, allegedly tried to smuggle liquor into the facility during a Friday, Nov. 7 visit to the Ossining prison, police said.

Reyes is charged with second-degree promoting prison contraband, which is a misdemeanor crime.

Her next court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 18.
