First responders from several departments rushed to the scene of a one-vehicle crash Monday on the Taconic State Parkway near Route 134 that sent an SUV into a guardrail.
Firefighters from Millwood and Yorktown Heights fire departments, along with Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps and Empress Emergency Medical Services responded to the crash in the northbound lanes of the parkway around 4:55 p.m., Millwood and Yorktown Heights fire officials reported.
When they arrived on the scene, firefighters found a single SUV had crashed into the guardrail and about 150-feet of the rail had penetrated through the engine block, into the passenger seat, and out the back window.
The driver, who was alone in the vehicle, was transported to a local hospital for treatment. His injuries are unknown.
