John M. Azabache was supposed to be getting married to White Plains resident Amanda Rae DeLuccia, The Journal News reported. The wedding was apparently called off Thursday.

Ossining police were notified Wednesday by the student's family that she had sex twice with Azabache between March and July in the village, but not on school property or during school hours, The Journal News said.

Azabache pleaded not guilty during his arraignment on Friday. Bail was set at $50,000, and the judge issued several orders of protection against Azabache.

In a letter to the district, Ossining Superintendent Raymond Sanchez said Azabache had administratively reassigned and barred from school grounds while the legal process goes forward.

"We are extremely disturbed by these allegations, as i am sure all of you are, and we are cooperating with law enforcement officials in their investigation of the matter," Sanchez wrote.
