Police said at 5:36 p.m., Bari Mohammed, a 23-year-old Brooklyn resident, was travelling westbound on Bear Mountain Bridge Ridge on a 2011 Kawasaki motorcycle when he left the roadway off the northern shoulder and then re-entered the roadway before crossing the double yellow line into eastbound traffic.
Mohahmmed's motorcycle struck the rear of a 2011 Nissan Rouge being driven by Maureen Ariaswolfe, a Highland Falls resident, police said. Mohahmmed was ejected from his motorcycle and was found 100 feet down an earth embankment, police said.
A third vehicle struck Mohahmmed's unoccupied vehicle. Mohahmmed was taken to Westchester Medical where he was listed in critical condition, police said.
The New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to investigate the crash.
