OSSINING, N.Y. Michael Battista of Ossining died Friday, Aug. 24. He was 80.
He was born July 26, 1932, in Ossining to Paul and Mary Battista. He worked for the Tarrytowns school district for 34 years.
Battista was predeceased by his wife, Grace; and a sister, Nettie Palmisano. He is survived by two sons, Michael (Jann) and John (Nancy); a daughter, Karen (Ralph) Knapp; a brother, Paul (Fran); two sisters, Anne Marie Stafford and Esther (Bill) Playford; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Leach & Thomas Funeral Home in Ossining. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ann's Church in Ossining. Burial will follow at St. Augustine Cemetery.
