Montague was born in Tarrytown on Dec. 31, 1923, the daughter Reuben and Loretta (Cunningham) Melrose. She graduated in 1940 from Washington Irving High School, winning the Business Award.
On Nov. 15, 1942 Margaret married Lawrence Montague, Sr. At the time of her husband’s death in 1994, they were married 52 years. She was a member of St. Augustine’s Church.
She is survived by her children Loretta and David (Dawn); many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her sons Lawrence M. Jr., Ossining Village Treasurer and Joseph A.; and siblings Teresa Martone, Mary Dolcetti and William Melrose.
Visiting hours will be held Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Dorsey. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:30 am at St. Augustine’s Church. Interment Sleepy Hollow Cemetery
