OSSINING, N.Y. -- Lotte Markeloff, a resident of Mystic Point in Ossining and formerly of Little Neck, N.Y., died Saturday Feb. 7, after a brief illness. She was 86.
Lotte was born in Braunschweig, Germany, on April 23, 1928 and was the daughter of Robert and Veronica (Haake) Burgdorf.
Lotte immigrated to Queens at the age of 2 and was a graduate of Queens College. She was a talented artist who was active in art associations and art education. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.
Lotte is survived by her loving companion of many years, Pierre Cassan; children Robert (Nancy), Linda, Sandra Nuffer and Richard (Jeannine); six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Nicholas.
Visiting hours will be held at Dorsey Funeral Home on Thursday, Feb. 12, from 2:30-4-30 p.m. and 6:30-8:30 p.m. Services will be held Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be Friday, Feb. 13, at 11 a.m. at Calverton National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Defenders of Wildlife.
