Julia Manning, 96, Longtime Ossining Resident

OSSINING, N.Y. – Julia M. Manning, a longtime resident of Ossining, died Oct. 2 at her daughter's home in Swanzey, N.H. She was 96. 

Manning was born Nov. 18, 1915, to William F. and Roseanne Claffey Wheatley. She was a retired bookkeeper at General Electric in Crotonville and a communicant of St. Ann's Church.  

She is survived by five children, Sheila Manning, Noreen (Robert) Tensel, Kathleen (James) Wall, John Manning and Patrick (Vanessa) Manning; her daughter-in-law, Lillian Manning; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Her husband, John J. Manning, died in 2007. 

Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, at Dorsey Funeral Home in Ossining. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, at St. Ann's Church in Ossining. Burial will follow at St. Augustine's Cemetery.
