James Masullo, 88, Of Ossining, WWII Veteran, Pipefitter For Nycrr

OSSINING, N.Y. - James Masullo of Ossining died June 7. He was 88.

Masullo was born March 15, 1925, in Ossining to Pellegrino and  Rose Petrone Masullo. He was a sergeant in the Army during WWII in the South Pacific where he received a bronze star. He worked as a pipefitter for NYCRR in Harmon for 42 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 506, the It Lo club and Tarrytown Leisure Club. He volunteered at the VA Hospital; helped with the Columbus Lodge, Elk’s Lodge, 52 Association and other organizations.

Masullo is survived by his wife, Valeria; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Tony (Tommy Mercer), Bill, Joe, Al; and sister, Viola Planamenta.

Calling hours are Monday, June 10 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Leach & Thomas, Inc. 32 State St. Ossining. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated  at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 11 at St. Ann’s Church, burial in St. Augustine’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
