She was born in the Bronx on May 10, 1960. She was the third of four daughters of James Marco and Catherine Frees, both born in the Bronx.
Shortly thereafter, the family moved to Ossining, where Cynthia attended Brookside Elementary School and the Ossining Middle School. Later her mom’s marriage to Nicholas Pogact in 1974 moved the family, and Cindy attended and graduated from Yorktown High School.
Gagne married John Mouris of Chappaqua in 1982. The following year their son John was born in Poughkeepsie. She later married Pierre Gagne of New Hampshire, in 2002. The couple lived in Berlin for a short time before returning to Ossining, where she was employed as a chef at Phelps Memorial Hospital.
Gagne was firm in her personal beliefs, all while being a fun loving, hard working compassionate person who will always be remembered for her great sense of humor, and ability to make those around her laugh and feel at ease. In her spare time, she loved creating food in her kitchen.
She is survived by her mother Catherine “Kay”, her husband Pierre, son John sisters Catherine Fleming and Patricia Oria. She also leaves many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends who meant so very much to her. She was predeceased by her elder sister Deborah Mauro in 2008 and her father James Marco who passed away in 2006.
Family and friends will be received at the Cassidy-Flynn Funeral Home at 288 East Main Street Mount Kisco on Thursday 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will take place Friday at St. Francis of Assisi Church 2 Green Street Mt. Kisco. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations in Gagne’s memory be sent to The American Liver Foundation.
