Callista Zastenchik, 91, Formerly Of Ossining

OSSINING, N.Y. – Callista B. Zastenchik, a former resident of North Tarrytown and Ossining, died Aug. 8. She was 91.

Zastenchik was born Jan. 5, 1921, in North Tarrytown to Joseph T. and Ellen Nevins Burns. She graduated from Sleepy Hollow High School and married Anthony Zastenchik on June 16, 1946, when he returned from service in World War II.

She worked as a bookkeeper at Phelps Memorial Hospital and was a former communicant of St. Ann's Church. She also worked many years at Bingo. Zastenchik logged over 5,000 hours as a volunteer at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness, Fla.

She is survived by two sons, Eugene, of Columbus, Ga., and David (Raffaella); and a granddaughter.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Ann's Church. Burial will be private. Dorsey Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
