OSSINING, N.Y. - Albert V. Otero, of Ossining and formerly of Dobbs Ferry, died Saturday, June 15. He was 80.
Otero was born Oct. 11, 1932, in Yonkers to Francesco and Josefa (Rodriguez) Otero. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for Prudential Insurance Company for 30 years, retiring in 1988. While at Prudential, he was awarded many presidential citations and other honors. In 1989 he formed the Albert V. Otero Financial Services business and retired in November 2012.
Otero was a parishioner in St. Augustine's parish and worked for the church. He volunteered with the Midnight Run since its inception in 2005 at the parish. He was the recipient of the St. Augustine's Service Award in 2010. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus - Council 311 since 2004.
Otero is survived by his wife, Mary Ann (Lisella); sons, Craig (Debbie) and Mark (Sandy) Bennett; five grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; seven siblings; and first wife, Sherwyn Ann Otero (Bennett).
Calling hours are Monday, June 17 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Dorsey Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 18 at St. Augustine's Church, Ossining. Interment will follow at Augustine's Cemetery, Ossining.
