What's Happening in Ossining This Weekend

OSSINING, N.Y. – Passover and Easter ceremonies highlight the events in Ossining and Briarcliff Manor this weekend. 

Friday

- Public Passover Seder at Chabad, 7:30 p.m.

All Jews, regardless of background or affiliation, are welcome to join. No Charge. Space is very limited. Residents are asked to reserve ahead of time. Suggested donation: adults $40, children $20, families $110. Co-sponsor the Seder $180. For more information, please call Chabad at 914.923.2522 or info@chabadbriarcliff.com. Chabad is located at 11 Orchard Road, Briarcliff Manor.

- Good Friday Liturgy with Stations of the Cross at Trinity, Noon.

The Stations of the Cross and the Solemn Collects and Veneration of the Cross at Trinity Episcopal Church, 7 South Highland Ave.

- Stations of the Cross at All Saints’ in Briarcliff, 12:15 p.m.

The Stations of the Cross will take place on Good Friday at All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Briarcliff Manor, 201 Scarborough Road. A children’s service is also set to begin at 4:30 p.m. and a Solemn Liturgy of Good Friday will take place at 7:30 p.m.

- Good Friday Service at St. Mary’s, 7:30 p.m.

St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 669 Albany Post Road, Scarborough, is hosting Good Friday services at 7:30 p.m.

- Tasty Port Wine Free Tasting, 4 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Tasty Port Wine & Spirits will be hosting a free wine tasting at 127 Main St. There will be a wine expert on-site plus special promotions.

- The Ossining Public Library’s “Get Your GED” Program, 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Tutors are set to be available for free every Friday in the teen room. For more information, residents are asked to contact Robin Osborne at the Westchester Library System at (914) 231-3237 or rosborne@wlsmail.org.

- Computer Help at the Ossining Public Library, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Free drop-in help with computers. Residents can learn how to navigate web pages and create documents in Microsoft programs. For more information, residents are asked to contact Cheryl at 941-2416 ext. 315.

Saturday

- Second Passover Seder at Chabad, 7:30 p.m.

- Holy Saturday Services at St. Paul’s, 7:30 p.m.

Landmark Churches Easter Evening Liturgy with the Lighting of the Paschal Candle and renewal of Baptismal vows at St. Paul’s on-the-Hill at 40 Ganung Drive, Ossining.

- The Ossining Public Library’s Photography Class, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

Residents can learn various photography techniques as a part of this weekly class. To register prior to the class, residents are asked to contact Director Jim Farrell at 941-2416 ext. 333.

Sunday

- Tanach Class at Chabad of Briarcliff-Ossining, 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Holiday morning services are expected to take place at 9:45 a.m. For more information, please call Chabad, at 914.923.2522 or info@chabadbriarcliff.com. Chabad is located at 11 Orchard Road, Briarcliff Manor.   

- Easter Sunday Services at All Saints’, 8 a.m., 10:30 a.m.

Holy Eucharist services at All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Briarcliff Manor, 201 Scarborough Road.

- Easter Egg Hunt and Services at St. Paul’s, 9:30 a.m.

The Easter Festival Eucharist at St. Paul’s on-the-Hill with choir starts at 9:30 a.m. Nursery Care will be provided. An Easter egg hunt will follow the service. St. Paul’s on-the-Hill is located at 40 Ganung Drive, Ossining.

- Easter Resurrection Festival Celebration at St. Mary’s, 10 a.m.

Easter celebration services are expected to continue following services at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 669 Albany Post Road.

- Trinity Services, Celebration and Easter Egg Hunt, 11 a.m.

The Trinity Festal Celebration of Easter Eucharist (Rite One) at 11:15 a.m. will be preceded by an organ prelude at 11 a.m. The service will be followed by a reception hosted by the Vestry and an Easter egg hunt.
