OSSINING, N.Y. -- Here are some of the stories that topped the news in Ossining last week:
- It was all smiles at Village and Town Hall in Ossining on Tuesday as the two municipalities formally announced that beginning on Jan. 1, the Village of Ossining Police Department will police the unincorporated part of the town.
- Lemar Johnson, an Ossining resident, has taken his share of hits on the football field, but this week they were the kind that brought kudos and glory, not discomfort or pain.
- A 19-year-old White Plains woman who survived a jump onto the Sprain Brook Parkway from an overpass on Tuesday, is being treated at Westchester Medical Center.
- An Ossining student, Charles Gulian, a senior at Ossining High School, is one of 30 people to be named a finalist by Siemens. His study of the stars has led him to be a finalist in Siemens National Science Competition.
