The town is planning to bring the community together to help replace the outdoor stage in Louis Engel Park that was damaged during Superstorm Sandy. The build is scheduled to take place on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 5 and 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Ossining also rededicated the playground and spray park at Louis Engel Park John V. Chervokas, who served as Ossining town supervisor from 1998 until 2008.
The town is conducting a study to explore the feasibility of a raised building currently occupied by the Ossining Boat and Canoe Club. The current building is in an area of excessive flooding according to FEMA flood plain maps. The building has sustained damage during the hurricanes that have hit the area in recent years.
Donnelly also discussed infrastructure improvements in the town, mostly pertaining to improved drainage on area roads including Morningside Drive, the Croton Damn Road/Minkel Road corridor, Cedar Lane and Old Albany Post Road.
Donnelly also announced that Dale Cemetery has been added to the National Register of Historic Places.
