OSSINING, N.Y.-- An Ossining teenager accidentally shot himself in the hand while showing off a gun, according to LoHud.com.
Police say Jabari Hylton, 19, was displaying his unlicensed, 9mm semiautomatic to friends in a Broadway home. There was no magazine in the gun, however, Hylton allegedly didn't realize there was still a bullet in the chamber that shot through his left index finger. He was the only person injured in the incident, according to LoHud.
Hylton was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a loaded firearm, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and first-degree reckless endangerment after he was treated at the hospital. All charges are felonies, according to LoHud.
Police found the gun that was fired and a Derringer handgun in the garbage of the home where the incident occured, LoHud reported.
