OSSINING, N.Y. -- Ossining's water system will be getting an upgrade.
The Ossining Water Department is receiving $1.4 million in federal EPA grants to help finance a water main replacement project. The funding was awarded through the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) program, which provides financial support to water systems and to state safe water programs.
“The Village of Ossining is very excited to be the recipient of $1.4M in EPA grant money which will offset more than half the cost of a major water main replacement project,” said Ossining Mayor Victoria Gearity. “Maintaining the public infrastructure of our water system is critical to fulfilling Ossining's commitment to ensuring safe reliable drinking water for our community. We are grateful to be partnering with the EPA and New York State to further our ongoing efforts to protect one of our most precious resources.”
The Ossining Water System provides drinking water for more than 30,000 residents in both the village and the unincorporated part of the Town of Ossining.
