Ossining Applauds Boston Strong Ahead Of Marathon

OSSINING, N.Y. -- Ossining will be Boston Strong at the running of the Boston Marathon on Monday, April 21.

Ossining residents said they are looking forward to the marathon and applauded Boston for its resilience in the wake of the terrorist attack at last year's marathon that killed three people.

"Boston has shown it has a strong group of people," town Supervisor Sue Donnelly said. "The marathon is going to be marvelous. They all came together after a disaster."

Howard Fleischer will be in Boston this weekend and said the world is proud of what Boston has overcome.

"We all felt the heartache," Fleischer said. "We have all risen. We are standing up and healing."

William Hanauer, mayor of the village of Ossining, said he as impressed with how Boston has been able to move forward while still mourning the victims.

Nancy Gold went to college in Boston and said she feels for all the people affected by the bombing.

"Boston has a tremendous spirit," Gold said. "Everyone is pulling together."

Jerry Faiella said Boston's resolve is a credit to human resilience.

"Godspeed," Faiella said. "I give them a lot of credit for the challenges they have overcome."
