OSSINING, N. Y. -- Cardinal Timothy Cardinal gave a message of hope for the Catholic Church on Sunday as he celebrated Mass at St. Ann's Church in Ossining, one of the first parishes to participate in the New York archdiocese's annual capital campaign, according to lohud.com.
The fundraising drive, titled "Renew and Rebuild," is to pay for building projects, including renovations at St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City, as well as education, events and other programs.
Parishioners crowded the church and nearby school to hear the archbishop celebrate Mass and offer his perspective during his homily. Dolan said he would use St. Ann's efforts to raise money as an example for the 350 parishes he serves, lohud.com reported.
