OSSINING, N.Y. -- Here are some of the stories that topped the news in Ossining last week:
- The Town Of Ossining will be patrolled by the Village Of Ossining police starting in 2015. Town Supervisor Susanne Donnelly announced the town and village have agreed in principle on the basic terms of a contract for police services for the unincorporated area of the town.
- The Ossining Board of Education has authorized Superintendent of Schools Raymond Sanchez to write a letter of support for the Middletown City School District’s complaint with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights, which demands that New York state correct “its inequitable and discriminatory funding system.”
- Hospitals in Westchester County and throughout the nation have been urged by the director of the Centers for Disease Control to "Think Ebola," as the outbreak in West Africa continues.
- Westchester County legislators sponsored a forum Tuesday recognizing community service agencies that for decades have assisted victims of domestic violence.
