Ossining Consultant Develops Special Needs Plan

As a consultant for Clark Dodge Asset Management in White Plains, Lisa Rudley helps her clients financially plan for the future. 

As a mother of a child with special needs though, she understands disabilities can make that task a bit more challenging when it comes to arranging long-term care and retirement. That’s why Rudley provides her clients with her expertise in finance as well as her experiences as a parent.

“People with disabilities need health care. Those clients need a legal attorney to assist them with setting up a special needs trust. We manage that,” Rudley said.

Rudley also tries to offer clients as much insight as she can while connecting them with resources to help them in school.

“My son Max was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and there are many things we’ve learned—how to help nutritionally rebuild his immune system has made a huge impact on him being a better learner,” Rudley said.

Rudley serves as president of the Ossining Special Education Parent Teacher Association, for which she has taught parents how to advocate for their child in educational meetings. She is also a board member for the National Association for Autism’s New York metro chapter. There, she recently presented her audience with business-savvy advice on managing their assets.  

“I direct them toward resources to help manage the life of a special needs child. In addition to lawyers and accountants, I’m helping families find resources in their own schools,” Rudley said.
