OSSINING, N.Y. We've got a challenge for the sharp-eyed readers who think they know Ossining. Can you tell us where this photo was taken?
Each Saturday, we'll be posting a photo of an architectural feature or object found somewhere in Ossining. It's up to you to figure out the name of the building, street or landmark where we took the photo. Points will be awarded to the first person who correctly gives the photo's location. We'll be keeping a list of our attentive readers.
This week's clue: A good place to cool off, rain or shine.
Tell us: Where is this object located? If you know, brag about it on our Facebook page or write it in the comments section. The first person to guess correctly will be awarded five points with subsequent guessers receiving one point. Last weeks winner is David A. Morrison, who was the first one to correctly guess that the photo was of the John Cheever Reading Room in the Ossining Public Library. The library is celebrating Cheevers 100th birthday with a special display in the reading room on May 27.
Here are the current rankings:
1st Place: David A. Morrison 16 points
2nd Place: Belle Watson 5 points
3rd Place: Brian Doyle, 2 points
Tied for 4th: David Petluck 1 point; Oma McCabe 1 point; The Desiderio family 1 point; Meaddows Ryan 1 point, mlv74 1 point
Next week we'll post a new Guess Where Photo and the answer to this week's photo with a bigger picture. Remember, only guesses on our Facebook page and in the comments section count toward the rankings.
