Antonio, Former Ossining Bakery Owner, Dies at 92

OSSINING, N.Y. - Former Ossining resident, Americo Antonio died Dec. 28 at the age of 92. 

One of the founding members of the Portuguese American Club in Ossining, he was formerly an owner of Ossining Italian Bakery

Born Mar. 6, 1919 in New Bedford, Mass., he was the son of Joaquin and Anna DeSilva Antonio. In 1949, he married the former Delfina Periera Beato. Along with his three brothers, Antonio was a founder and owner of the Ossining Italian Bakery. He was also a former parishioner of St. Ann's Church in Ossining.

He is survived by his daughter Maria Lucille, his son John (Michele) Antonio, his brothers Henrique Antonio and Jose Antonio, his sister Maria Celeste Callahan and four grandchildren. Antonio was predeceased by his brother Inocencio Antonio  and his sisters Maria Assuncao Matos and Alzira Vieira.

The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Ann's Church on Jan. 6 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Augustine's Cemetery. Funeral arrangements by Dorsey Funeral Home in Ossining.
