OSSINING, N.Y. -- Author Sharon Ndiaye teaches "Cooking Around the World" Tuesdays at 12 p.m. at Briarcliff Nursery School in Ossining.
She specializes in teaching children ages 4 to 8 how to cook multicultural recipes, and introduces them to kitchen processes by letting them do all the hands-on work.
They really enjoy the independence of "doing it themselves," and they gain a lot from the sensory experiences, according to Ndiaye.
"My mantra is that they don't have to like it, but we do like them to try it," she said.
