Proceeds from this annual fundraising event will go toward the purchase of food to help feed the needy in the greater Ossining area.
"For 28 years, the Food Pantry has helped feed our neighbors in need," said Karin Chaudhari, board member and co-chair of the Celebration committee. "On Sept. 25, with the beautiful Hudson River as a backdrop, we will come together to raise additional funds for food programs and to celebrate our loyal donors and volunteers."
The evening will include music, wine, hors d'oeuvres, desserts, raffle baskets and a silent auction.
The Ossining Food Pantry is a 100 percent volunteer-run organization with no paid staff. It relies on the hard work of volunteers and donations from the community.
The Food Pantry serves a large cross-section of residents from the greater Ossining area, distributing food through a variety of locations and programs. It offers programs through churches, day cares and a home delivery option.
Tickets are $50: you can buy them here, or donate directly, if you cannot attend the event. Tickets will also be available at the door, still at $50, but payable only with cash or check.
For more information on the event, or to donate or volunteer, visit the Food Pantry website or call its office at 914-762-5510 and leave a voicemail.
The celebration will run from 4-7 p.m. at the Shattemuc Yacht Club, 1 Westerly Rd., in Ossining.
