Children entering grades one to eight can star in the show this summer and younger children can participate in an ensemble cast with high school kids making up the stage crew. With rehearsals in the evening and some weekends, this program is designed so that it will not conflict with day camp and will work around vacation schedules.
The show is 45 minutes long and combines music, acting and movement. Role placement for grades one through eight is by appointment beginning May 3. A special class for an ensemble cast, for children ages four and five will teach children ensemble songs with minimal stage direction.
Rehearsals will begin July 5 and will run through the beginning of August. Cast members will be able to note summer conflicts and Mike Risko Music will try to schedule rehearsals accordingly. The show is scheduled for week of Aug. 8.
Mike Risko Music also seeks high school-aged kids who are interested in being a part of stage crew, music and directing. Piano and guitar players are a plus.
