The fund, which was started in 1915, helps about 360 families each year.
The fund goes solely to purchase food for holiday baskets delivered to families in need. The administration efforts are handled by volunteers and the baskets are packed and delivered by members of the Ossining Volunteer Fire Department and other community members.
The fund was started by an Ossining businessman who noticed kids looking through the garbage for food.
