OSSINING, N.Y. -- Artworks by preschool children and their parents will be exhibited at the Ossining Public Library.

The budding artists were participants in the ArteJuntos/ArtTogether program, a collaboration between museum, local schools, and community organizations.

The opening reception for the show is 11 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Friday, June 10.

It runs through Sunday, June 19 during regular library hours.

The show was organized by the Katonah Museum of Art and the First Steps Program, which is based in Ossining.

According to one of the organizers, Margaret Adasko, a parent can be the most important teacher a child ever has.

The program helps parents engage with their children and help prepare them for school, said Adasko, the museum’s education program manager.

ArteJuntos/ArtTogether is a bilingual art literacy program that introduces low-income, educationally at-risk preschool children and their families to the museum as a resource for learning, discovery, and creativity, she said.

The museum partners with the First Steps/Primeros Pasos Program in Ossining, Park Early Childhood Center in Ossining, and the Family Center at Neighbor's Link in Mount Kisco.

The library is located at 53 Croton Ave., Ossining.
