OSSINING, N.Y. – Grow Ossining, a community-based startup fund, will host a fundraiser from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 22 at the Olive Opera House.
The fund's goal is raising $50,000 by Feb. 28, showing the property's owner interest exists in turning the Opera House into a multicultural and multifunction space for the community.
Grow Ossining was launched last year as a way for community members to reinvest in the area. The group has set its eyes on a restoration of the 150-year old Opera House.
The Opera House is located at 63-67 Central Avenue in Ossining and the entrance is on Brandreth Street. The organization will have tours on the half hour, explaining their plans at rolling intervals during the course of the afternoon.
Anyone interested in attending can RSVP on Grow Ossining's Facebook page or email Dennis Kirby at denby10562@gmail.com.
