Car Crashes Down Embankment After Woman Swerves To Avoid Deer On Route 202 A car crashed down an embankment after a woman swerved the vehicle to avoid a deer in the Hudson Valley, according to police. The incident happened early Saturday afternoon, Oct. 3 in Rockland County on Route 202, just west of Mayer Drive in the Village of Montebello. The vehicle rolled over after going down the embanked, Ramapo Police said. Luckily, this driver was not injured.  The roadway was temporarily closed as the tow truck removed the vehicle, according to police.

Police Seek Public's Help In IDing Person Of Interest In Rockland Burglary Police are searching for a burglar who was captured on the security camera of the homeowner he robbed.  The burglar, who robbed a Village of Montebello home late last month appears to be white and has a tattoo on his right calf. He was driving what appears to be a 2013-2015 Toyota Rav4 with gold New York State license plates, Ramapo Police said. If you recognize this man, contact the detective bureau at 357-2400 x4356.

Fire Destroys Rockland Home A home under construction was destroyed by a fire. Ramapo police said the fire that started around 5;15 a.m., Sunday, March 31 at 22 Canterbury Lane in the Village of Montebello. "The home was under construction and is believed to be unoccupied," Ramapo police said on Facebook around 6 a.m. Sunday. Arriving firefighters found heavy fire on the corner of the house, said the Rockland County Fire Chiefs Association on Facebook.
