The South Orangetown Central School District said it learned of the positive case at Tappan Zee High School in Orangeburg on Wednesday, Sept. 23. The individual was in the high school on Monday, Sept. 21 and Tuesday, Sept. 22, the district said. As a result, Tappan Zee High School is closed temporarily on Thursday, Sept. 24 through Friday, Sept. 25. Classes will continue remotely as scheduled. On Wednesday, 16,000 high school seniors were chosen from around the country. Jenna Marie Benz Of Blauvelt Dies At Age 20 Jenna Marie Benz of Blauvelt died on Friday, Dec. 29. She was 20 years old. She was born in Nyack on June 25, 1997 and graduated from Tappan Zee High School in 2015. Jenna loved her family, friends, dog (Mika), and cat (Zocoa) dearly.  She is survived by her parents. Anthony and Lara; her brother, Andrew, who was truly her best friend; her grandparents; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  A funeral mass will be held, Tuesday, Jan. 2, at 10 a.m. at St. Catharine’s Church in Blauvelt with a burial to follow. Visiting hours will be Monday, Jan. 1 from 4 p.m. to 8p.m.
