Man From Area Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash, Police Say A Hudson Valley man was killed in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash. The crash took place in Orange County in Newburgh on Saturday, July 30 at the intersection of South Street and Pierces Road. When officers arrived on the scene they found the 32-year-old Newburgh man unconscious and unresponsive, said the city of Newburgh Police. The man was immediately transported to St. Luke’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said. The victim has not been identified. Police are looking for any witnesses who may have been in the area at the time of the incident, police said.…

The fire took place in Orange County around 6:50 p.m., Saturday, July 30, in the City of Newburgh when the blaze at the home on South Street started in the basement, authorities said. When seven City of Newburgh firefighters arrived on the scene, all occupants and pets were out of the home and a heavy fire was found in the basement, the department said. Peter Telesco, age 23, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested around 3 p.m., on Tuesday, April 20, in Orange County after the City of Newburgh Police received a call for a man in a grey hoodie with a firearm in the area of South and Liberty streets, said Lieutenant Brandon Rola. Woman Injured After Several Shots Fired At Large Gathering In Area A woman was hospitalized after several shots were fired at a large, overnight gathering in the City of Newburgh. The incident occurred around 3:40 a.m. Saturday, May 18 in the area of 97 South Street. Less than an hour later, the woman entered Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital with a gunshot wound to the hand, said police. The large crowd was dispersing after police arrived on the scene following notification of gunfire.  The incident is being investigated. Anyone with information is asked to call Newburgh City Police at 845-561-3131.
